Description of main tourists visiting Saulkrasti
Majority of the visitors of the region are from Latvia, attracted by the beach and respective range of offered activities in summertime. As to the international tourists, they mostly come fro other Central Baltic countries –
Lithuania and especially from Estonia and Finland because of the position of Saulkrasti near the Tallinn highway. One important group of visitors are from Russia, who sometimes even tend to obtain properties in Saulkrasti as their summer residences. Also there are visitors coming from the rest of continental Europe and UK, and the main characteristics of the visitors could be that they chose Saulkrasti over Jūrmala, which is the most popular tourism destination near the seaside in Latvia, because of providing less overcrowded and more authentic Latvian environment at the same time offering all the necessary facilities and information.
